As an author, reporter, and journalist Moss will focus his presentation on his New York Times #1 bestseller book “Salt, Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us”, and his book “Hooked: Food, Free Will and How the Food Giants Exploit Our Addictions.” These prominent works by Moss explore the science behind how America's fast food and junk food industries become addictively dangerous.
Along with his success in long-form writing, Moss also has a prolific career in journalism. Before launching a career with The New York Times in 2000, he was a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, New York Newsday, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Moss received the 2010 Explanatory Reporting Pulitzer Prize for his 2009 investigative coverage of food safety issues, mainly contaminated meat. The coverage that earned him this prize included headlines like “The Burger that Shattered Her Life,” and “Food Safety Problems Elude Private Inspectors.”
And in 2006, Moss was a finalist for the National Reporting Pulitzer Prize based on stories reporting the “bureaucratic inertia that led to the fatal injury of American soldiers in Iraq who lacked protective armor.”
